Meditating A singing bowl is a vibrating bell that is used in sound therapy and spiritual healing. It generates a rich, deep tone. Body and soul are greatly affected and harmonized by singing bowls. Singing bowls are traditionally constructed of seven metals, which represent the seven planets that are visible. They are said to produce deep sound massage and improve relaxation. The term “singing bowl” originated from the sound made when a singing bowl was rubbed. The method’s science is that one tone is made stronger while all other tones vanish, leaving behind a ring that is both pure and intense. The humming sound is produced by rubbing the smaller diameter raw wood striker that comes with your singing bowl around the bowl’s rim.

To stop the bowl from rattling, firmly press the wooden stick on the rim. When you slowly drag and press the striker around the bowl in circles, picture yourself riding a wave. Singing will eventually come out as you rub. Occasionally a quick tap to initiate the sound followed by some rubbing will facilitate the process.
