The drive to Chame and Muktinath and the return to Pokhara complete the 14-day Annapurna Circuit Trek. (No flight)
The Annapurna Circuit Trek became accessible to tourists for the first time in the middle of the 1980s, and it has since established itself as the most well-liked trekking area in Nepal. Once you’ve visited, it will be clear why it is so well-liked. You’ll always remember the rhododendron and Cyprus forests, the vast mountain ranges blanketed in snow, the deepest valley on earth, the highest pass, and the breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri massifs. The vistas of Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Dhaulagiri (8167m), which is referred to as a “white beautiful mountain” in Sanskrit, will leave you speechless.
igudenepal will take you through the stunning Kali Gandaki Gorge, the deepest in the world, to one of the highest lakes in the world, Tilicho Lake; cascading Rupse Falls; Rhododendron, bamboo, oak and Cyprus forests; 100 varieties of orchids; and unique local fauna like Martin deer, langur monkey, and the elusive Snow Leopard are just a few of the many features that make this trek unforgettable. The wonderful Sherpas live in the enormous Annapurna Conservation Area, which is home to their historically rich culture and traditions.
This journey has a number of beginning points, including Chame and Muktinath. Before turning north and going through Pisang and Braga to reach the verdant Manang Valley, the trail follows the swiftly flowing Marsyangdi River. You will ascend to the maximum elevation on this walk at around halfway up the wind-whipped Thorang La Pass (5416m). After passing across the pass, there is a steep descend to the revered Muktinath Buddhist shrine.
Iguidenepal & Trekking team will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and transport you to your hotel, followed by a briefing on the do’s and don’ts of your trek. Your safety and comfort come first.
A long drive will take us to the start of our hike. This is an excellent opportunity to sit back, relax, and take in the beauties of the changing scenery, including rivers, terraced rice fields, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Tonight we will stay at a guesthouse where all meals will be provided.
We leave Chame and travel through rhododendron, pine, and bamboo forests before arriving at Tal and its farmed farm plots of wheat, potatoes, and other cereals. After passing through Dharapani, we go west through fir and pine forests to Bagarchhap, where we spend the night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
We continue from Bagarchhap to Danaque before climbing to Tamang Village (unique stone cottages with slate roofs) for spectacular views of Manaslu (8163m), Annapurna, and other high peaks. Before arriving at Chame, our hike takes us through various Tibetan settlements, including Thanchowk and Koto. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
After leaving Chame, we travel through Telekhu and get some beautiful views of Annapurna and Pisang (6091m) along the trail until we have to re-cross the Marsyangdi River on a suspension bridge to the south side. After crossing the river, we go across the upper sections of the Manang valley to Pisang, passing through a pine forest. Tonight we’re staying in Pisang. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
The village of Pisang serves as the starting point for our hike in the upper Manang region. Today we travel to Braga, a Tibetan community known for its unusual design, with dwellings built one on top of the other. One of its biggest draws is the Gompa, which is the largest in the Manang region. Manang is a popular trekking destination as well as a place to acclimate before venturing to higher altitudes. We’ll spend the night here. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
Trekkers should spend some time acclimatizing before venturing to higher elevations, according to medical authorities. They also advise being active. We’ll trek up to Khangsar (3756m) today to help us acclimate even more. Stay at Manang for the night. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
Today we embark on a 10.4-kilometer uphill climb to Yak Kharka, passing through juniper woodlands and possibly seeing yak grazing in the pastures. We pass the only teahouse in Thorong Khola on the way. Depending on the weather, we may decide to travel a little further and spend the night in Letdar. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
As we climb higher, we gradually become accustomed to the higher altitude. We follow the east bank of the Jarang Khola and see steep bluffs along the way before reaching Thorung Phedi (meaning foothills). If we’re lucky, we might even see the famed blue sheep and a snow leopard! Lammergeyer (bearded vulture) lives here as well. There is also a legend that the mythological griffons live in this area! Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
Today will most likely be the most difficult day of the expedition, with a hike of 7-8 hours. The increased altitude adds to the challenge and, at times, strong winds in these upper places. We may come across sheep, yaks, and merchants hauling their wares along the way. We will be rewarded with breathtaking views of Annapurna, Gangapurna, and the eye-catching peak of Khatungkang (6484m) after we reach Thorong La Pass. Leaving the crossing, we descend roughly 1600 meters to the dazzling Dhaulagiri (Dhaula Giri, meaning “White Mountain”), Nepal’s highest mountain. Before arriving at Muktinath, the trail becomes more undulating and relatively easy. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
We go from Muktinath through lovely meadows, fruit orchards, and streams before arriving in Jomson in the Kali Gandaki valley. Kagbeni’s horticulture business has earned it a well-deserved reputation. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all included.
Today’s 7-8 hour road ride takes us from Jomson to Pokhara via Tatopani (hot springs and time for a soak! ), Jomson, and Beni Bazaar. When you arrive in Pokhara and settle into your lakeside hotel, you will have time to take a boat ride on Phewa Tal (lake), stroll along the lakeside, shop, and in the evening, enjoy a few drinks at one of the numerous bars while watching the sunset over the distant mountains. Breakfast and lunch are included.
Today, we return to Kathmandu on a 6- to 7-hour drive, with many good memories of Nepal and its distinct culture and geography. These are the kinds of memories that will last a lifetime!
This is the day you bid Nepal go. Sherpa Expedition and Trekking will transport you to the airport at least three hours before your flight. You can ponder on your stay in Nepal and plan your next trip to this mountainous country once you’re on the plane.
